What’s in the beautiful home of Olivia Wilde designed by Barbara Bestor in Los Angeles?

Following her much-publicized separation from Jason Sudeikis, Olivia Wilde has reorganized their real estate holdings. Property records гeveɑl that Sudeikis now has full ownership of their opulent Brooklyn townhouse, while Wilde has taken ownership of their multimιllιon-dollar California home, a Spanish-style hacienda in Silver Lake
With her new chapter officially underway, Wilde has upgraded to a more spacious property in Los Angeles. The accomplished actress and director of “Don’t Worry Darling” invested nearly $6 mιllιon in a hilltop estate located in Studio City. This stunning property boasts a remarkable design pedigree and offers tranquil views of the San Fernando Valley basin.

Secluded from public view behind an extended driveway and large gates, the single-story ranch house was originally constructed in the 1940s. Over the years, it underwent a series of less fortunate renovations and expansions. In the mid-2000s, it was acquired by a local married couple, commercial director John Dolan and pastry chef Sarah Lambert, who raised their family there.

Determined to breathe new life into the home, Dolan and Lambert enlisted the renowned Silver Lake-based architect, Barbara Bestor. Under her guidance, the entire structure was completely redesigned, transforming the once cramped space into a bright and airy contemporary ranch. Bestor, a highly sought-after architect in L.A., is best known for her work on John Lautner’s iconic Silvertop residence.

Presently, the 3,700-square-foot house offers four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and inviting communal areas. A splendid great room connects the living and dining rooms to the kitchen, which boasts soapstone countertops and premium Gaggenau appliances. Numerous bespoke cabinets and consoles were custom-designed by Bestor, who incorporated intricate Douglas fir detailing into many pieces.

Like several other rooms, the master retreat features elegant Fleetwood pocket doors that effortlessly blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living. The grounds are adorned with a generous grassy lawn in the backyard, a newly refurbished swimming pool and spa combination, a poolside cabana, an outdoor fireplace, and lush gardens thoughtfully designed by renowned landscape architect Judy Kameon. Additionally, a detached guesthouse equipped with its own kitchenette complements the property.
