Former NFL quarterback sack for the New York Giants, Michael Strahan. After 15 years of playing, Strahan transitioned into the media and is now a football analyst.
When the New York Giants picked Strahan with the 40th overall choice in the 1993 NFL Draft, his professional career officially began. Standing at 6’5″, his presence at defensive end was instantly acknowledged, and in his sophomore year.
He recorded his first season of double-digit quarterback sacks in his professional career in 1997, finishing with 14, earning the Giants and his first trip to the Pro Bowl.
He continued his dominance in professional football in 1998 with a 15-sack campaign, and then broke a record in 2001 by setting an NFL single-season record with 22.5 sacks.
In 2007, Strahan and teammate quarterback Eli Manning guided the Giants to their first Bowl victory. Together, the group defeated Tom Brady and the unbeaten New England Patriots to end the team’s championship drought of almost two decades.
At the time of his final game, Strahan was ranked fifth in NFL history with a total of 141.5 QB sacks over the course of his incredible career. To honor his illustrious reputation, he was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
After leaving the NFL, he was immediately hired by FOX Sports to serve as a football pundit. In 2012, he was appointed co-host of Live! and Kelly. But in 2016, along with Kelly and Michael, he quit the program to devote all of his time to Good Morning America.
