Tour Demi Lovato’s mansion, ‘colorful so she doesn’t feel lonely’

Lovato had the chance to design the house of her dreams in Studio City’s 8,500 square foot, six-bedroom, seven-bathroom modern farmhouse. Additional advantages were the theater and the backyard pool, of course.

She says, “I love the outdoors,” over Zoom.Although there were many wonderful homes, none of them could satisfy my needs for a studio, a glam room, or a room for fittings, so I liked that it had everything I needed. It also had a really nice vibe, and I fell in love with it right away.

Up until that point, Lovato had insisted on having her own dressing room. Along with other eye-catching details like furniture by Pierre Paulin and Michael Ducaroy, a Murano chandelier, a distinctive mirror by Gustaf Westman, and a neon sign that reads “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” the interior also features a shampoo bowl from a hair salon that is fully functional.

Other odd spaces include the “Shroom Room,” where guests of Lovato can unwind on a modular sofa set painted a rainbow of colors exclusively for the space. Two Pierre Paulin Tongue chairs, silver-glistening walls, and silver curtains are also present.

Thanks to decorations like wall sconces by Uchiwa and an Entler Studio chandelier that resembles tentacles, the purple dining room assumes a more aquatic character. Bell and Drew gave the kitchen a more grounded appearance by combining Gucci’s Lilies wallpaper with wood finishes, brass accents, and other earth tones.

The pool house needed the most work in order to be transformed into a recording studio that functions as a sacred space, even if the house’s interior architecture was sound. The finished product is a creative place with subdued textures provided by objects like a Cold Picnic blanket and an Upholstered Stitch Stool by Eny Lee Parker.

The backyard is transformed into a separate universe with the pool, hot tub, fire pit, outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, and private terrace. Batman and Cinderella, Lovato’s dogs, have a separate area that is fenced off with netting so they can play outside without worrying about the hawks and coyotes in the area.
