Lionel Messi and his best friend and former Barcelona FC teammate Cesc Fabregas took their wives and families on a lavish vacation in Ibiza, Spain, on Messi’s birthday, June 24. Messi and Antonela Roccuzzo have three children: Mateo, nine, Thiago, six, and Ciro, four. Fabregas brought his wife Daniella Semaan and their three children, Lia, Capri, and Leonardo.
The Daily Mail reports that the two soccer players, who are relaxing before a new season, bought a $318,000 (€303,000) a week mansion on the Spanish island with six bedrooms, a gym, and a 65-foot (20-meter) swimming pool with 22 staff.
The two went sailing because nothing beats being on the water. Lionel Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, posted photos of the two chartering Shaliman II, according to the same outlet.
The 90-foot wide open yacht Shaliman II has a beam of 20’5″ (6.23 m) and a low draft of 5’5″ (1.65 m). The Italian shipyard Pershing built it in 2009 with a GRP hull and superstructure. According to Yacht Charter Fleet, twin MTU engines propel it to 38 knots (44 mph / 70 kph) at cruise and 44 knots (51 mph / 81 kph) at top.
In 2018, the yacht was refitted to accommodate eight guests in four suites: a master suite, a VIP cabin, and two twin cabins. The yacht has four crew members to meet your every need for $62,500 (€59,000) per week, plus expenses.
The two couples also stayed at Lionel Messi’s Mim Hotel on vacation.
