In the realm of real estate, DJ Khaled is now relinquishing some significant insights. The renowned musical virtuoso and head of a record label, aged 44, has successfully sold his expansive mansion in Florida for $4.8M, following a span of over a year on the market and a potential sale that stumbled earlier this year.
Originally listed in December 2018 for $7.99M, as initially reported by PEOPLE, the house nearly reached $5.99M in value by April 2020. “Regrettably, the original buyer encountered an unforeseen family emerge𝚗cy, impeding the sale,” explains Janet Ben Zvi, the broker from ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, in her conversation with PEOPLE. Consequently, the property was placed back on the market.
Zvi elucidates, “The price was brought down to $4.8M, as it didn’t include the furnishings, which had been part of the original $5.9M asking price.” This final sum, therefore, ended up being $3.19M less than the initial asking price.
During Khaled’s occupancy of the mansion with five bedrooms and six bathrooms, it was adorned with opulent embellishments suitable for royalty. These included 14k gold chandeliers adorned with Swarovski crystals, a high-end kitchen, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, and a veranda offering picturesque waterfront views. Over the course of time, Khaled invested more than $2.5M in renovating the property.
In addition to featuring a tailor-made room for Khaled’s extensive sneaker collection, the four-story Mediterranean-influenced estate also served as the backdrop for his famous Hоt Tub motivational talks, as well as many other escapades chronicled on Snapchat.
The property further boasts a tropical-themed pool that overlooks the expanse of Miami Bay, where rumors abound of Khaled hosting numerous lively pool parties for his high-profile acquaintances.
Back in 2016, Khaled provided an exclusive tour of the property to PEOPLE, showcasing a grand Belle moment as he proudly demonstrated the towering space he had designed for his sneaker collection, accessible via a rolling library ladder.
“My affinity for my sneaker room is unparalleled,” he shared. “Each sneaker here holds a special place in my career journey. The vibes are limitless.”
Among his cherished items are an array of Air Jordans, “timeless Yeezys,” Reeboks autographed by JAY-Z, and sandals from Khaled’s own We the Best store, featuring his frequently quoted catchphrases “Bless Up” and “Another One.”
“In the quiet of the night, when the breeze rustles through, the bamboo creates its own melody,” Khaled reminisced, alluding to the grove in his backyard, where he finds ample space for meditation or to welcome his massage therapist for a soothing session.
