Nicolas Cage ‘considered’ to buy his old house after 10 years of separation due to tax evasion

Whether he likes it or not, Nicolas Cage is “Leaving Las Vegas” a sentimental Nicolas Cage.

In 2009, Cage’s Las Vegas property went into foreclosure after it was discovered that he owed $14M in back taxes.

According to listing broker Susie Perrine, owner and broker of Las Vegas International Realty, the “Leaving Las Vegas” star “considered” purchasing the home when it was listed for more than $6M more than ten years ago, she told The Post.

Last year, he gave the $6M house two tours, the second of which he shared with his future wife Riko Shibata, whom he wed in Las Vegas a month later, according to Perrine.

“He kept talking about how much he loves the home and what happy memories he has there,” Perrine continued.
The paperwork reveals that the seven-bedroom, 1012-bathroom house Cage occupied with his ex-wife Alice Kim has been bought for $6M after spending seven years on and off the market, and Cage isn’t the buyer.

While still married to Kim, the 57-year-old “National Treasure” star spent $8.5M to own the home with marble floors.

In a December 2009 foreclosure, he lost the 14,300 square foot house along with two properties in New Orleans and one in California.

His $14M in unpaid taxes, as reported at the time and verified by property records, were the cause of his wave of property foreclosures.

Following the foreclosure, the original owner sold the house to an LLC registered to the owner of a Nebraska construction firm, who paid $4.5M for it in January 2012, according to the records.

According to Realtor.com, the beige-decorated house now boasts a commercial elevator, a 10-car garage, a media room, an office, and a game room. On his tour, Cage responded particularly to the home theater, according to Perrine.

“I always have ‘The Family Man’ playing in the theater room when I show the property. That made him exclaim, “Oh wow!” I advised him to produce more films similar to this one, Perrine told The Post.

According to Realtor.com, the 3,000 square foot main bedroom suite contains a shower, a steam room, a sauna, and a walk-in closet.
