It turns out that Chris Comstock, the 28-year-old Philadelphia native better known to his mιllιons of fans as Marshmello, was the mystеry buyer who last summer dropped a whopping $10.8 mιllιon on a large house in Mulholland Estates, that guard-gated community in the mountains above Sherman Oaks where Christina Aguilera, Vanna White, Kendall Jenner, and Paris Hilton call home.

Since Comstock and his chewily sweet alter-ego established themselves as one of the top electronic music artists in the world virtually overnight in 2015, it has been nonstop celebration. Marshmello’s well-oiled marketing dream team is behind the slickly produced hιt songs (“Silence,” “Wolves,” “Friends,” “Alone”) and the ubiquitous smiley bucket head. His tireless manager Moe Shalizi is frequently credited for the quick creation of the Marshmello brand, and networking has also helped — early shoutouts from other well-known EDM acts like Skrillex and Tiesto proved invaluable to his early success.

Marshmello’s starting home in Los Angeles, a $3.6 mιllιon contemporary in the Laurel Canyon district, was only purchased three years ago. However, a significant home renovation has been all but inevitable given that his career is showing no signs of slowing down – according to Forbes, he made a staggering $56 mιllιon in 2019 alone.

The extravagantly styled home, which was built in 1992 by Richard Landry, a favorite of celebrities who frequently puts the “extra” in extravagant, has interiors by Jeff Lewis, who was hired to correct past décor mistakes. The blindingly white end product has more than a hint of a Miami flavor, and the seller’s agents, Josh and Matt Altman of The Altman Brothers Team at Douglas Elliman, were featured on Bravo’s “mιllιon Dollar Listing”. Marshmello was represented by Ekaterina Chubarova of LA Estate Brokerage.
