G-Eazy’s mansion is surrounded by art and multi-mιllιon dоllar designer goods

The 32-year-old Everything’s Strange Here rapper showed archdigest.com his 1979 Spanish colonial Los Angeles home and his custom two-story recording studio, which he calls “a different universe.”

“Music is my passion and a major aspect of my life,” says Gerald Gillum (G-Eazy). “I am inextricably linked to my work, so it made perfect sense for me to create a space where life and work intersect.”

The artist bought the Spanish colonial in 1979 for $1.75 mιllιon in 2017 and worked with interior designer Melody Jimenez to make it cozy. He says, “Taste is a very nuanced thing.” I value aesthetics, but I also want a home’s spirit and vibe to shine through in its interior design.”

The property featured four bedrooms, but G-Eazy turned one into a huge wardrobe for his “more than 500 pairs” of sneakers. He says, “I wɑnted it to feel like you were walking through a museum.”

As he left his front door for a lift he and Jimenez had remodeled with red velvet walls, Moroccan tiling, and alabaster lighting, the rapper stressed the importance of having a “separate space” for work.
The fluorescent-lit second-floor lounge of G-Eazy’s home studio is filled with his successes and a framed Kobe Bryant jersey. “Kobe Bryant was my hero,” he says.

“This was a birthday gift a few years prior to his passing,” he recalls. His first words to me after a game were, ‘Yo, youthful Elvis!’ He then told me to follow the Beatles, never give up, aim for greatness, and remember the Mamba attitude.

The “Provide” artist pointed to a letter that read, “Do the phenomenal,” with the late L.A. Laker’s signature. “Imagine passing by that every time you enter the studio,” he said. “How could you not want greatness?”

After the quarantine in March, his haven was the downstairs studio. “Initially, nobody could see anyone, so I was alone down here,” he says. I had to relearn engineering. I had to relearn most of my music production. I am alone in this room, playing the piano and writing music.”

G-Eazy is also “big on rugs,” especially in his studio, where he likes to relax and listen to his tunes. The California rapper recorded most of The Beautiful & Dɑmned and his upcoming seventh studio album These Things Happen Too at his private studio.
