Even a fire that breaks out in the basement can’t stop Will Smith’s “Pursuit of Happyness.”
According to an exclusive report from The Post, Smith’s vast Calabasas house is currently undergoing renovations following a fire that occurred in the $42M family home he shares with his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith and that resulted in smoke damage.
According to photographs that are only available to subscribers, a tennis court that was located next to a court that is still used for basketball has been completely demolished.
In addition, there is now crimson scaffolding surrounding the most southernmost point of the main house, which is more than 20,000 square feet in size, right close to the deck, outdoor barbecue, pool.
Page Six claimed that there were no injuries or hospitalizations as a result of the fire that broke out in the basement of the six-bedroom, thirteen-bathroom compound on September 20. The Smith family was present at the time of the incident.
They are all healthy and safe in their own homes. According to an exclusive report from Page Six, a fire broke out in the basement, and while one firefighter had to be taken to the hospital, the rest of the family is unharmed.
In response to The Post’s request for comment on the repairs, representatives for Will Smith have chosen not to react.
According to the floor plans, the family room and the kitchen are both located on the first floor of the home. The kitchen is equipped with an island, a huge pantry, and a breakfast area with large windows.
It is not known whether the smoke damage was limited to just the basement or if it spread beyond.
The fire in the basement spread to the bottom level of the house, which was 1,750 square feet in size.
There is not a lot of information available regarding the basement, but according to floor plans from the year 2001, it was supposed to have a gym in it.
According to the floor plans, the portion of the house that is currently covered with scaffolding is where the family room and kitchen are located on the first floor.
The kitchen features an island, a spacious pantry, and a breakfast room with large windows. It is not known whether the smoke damage was limited to just the basement or if it spread beyond.
Scaffolding has been attached to the primary bedroom suite located on the second story.
According to the permit records, this suite features a spa-like bathtub, a huge dressing room, and a private garden and terrace, all of which can be seen through the scaffolding that is there.
